Updates to the content editor

We’ve updated the editor used for content authoring in PlusPlus. This change replaces the older editor with a more modern foundation, giving authors a better editing experience today and making it easier for us to improve the editor over time.

We’ve moved to a newer editor experience

The previous editor was based on older technology that was becoming outdated and harder to maintain. This update gives us a more flexible and maintainable editor foundation.

For authors, that means a more modern editing experience with better support for structured content and richer formatting options.

The goal of this update

This update is primarily focused on modernizing the editor experience and replacing the previous editor with something more sustainable long term.

It also gives us a stronger foundation for future improvements to authoring in PlusPlus.

What’s new

With the updated editor, authors now have access to improved formatting capabilities, including:

Code blocks

You can add code blocks when you need to display technical or preformatted content more clearly.

Quote blocks

Quote blocks make it easier to call out referenced text, highlighted notes, or styled quotations.

Undo and redo

The updated editor includes improved undo and redo support, making it easier to correct mistakes while editing.

Tables

Authors can now add tables directly in the editor, which can be helpful for organizing structured information.

Image resizing

Images can now be resized within the editor, making it easier to control layout and presentation within content.

A better editing experience for authors

This update improves the day-to-day authoring experience by making common formatting tasks easier and giving authors more flexibility when building content.

A better foundation for future improvements

In addition to the immediate formatting improvements, this editor upgrade gives us a more modern foundation to build on. That makes it easier for us to continue improving the editor and support more advanced authoring capabilities over time.

FAQ

What areas of PlusPlus use the updated editor?

The updated editor applies to content authoring areas where this editor experience is enabled, everywhere using a text editor, such track section details, assessment questions, user bios, etc…

If you’re unsure whether a specific content type or field uses the updated editor yet, check the editing experience in your tenant or reach out to your PlusPlus team for confirmation.

Does this change affect existing content?

Existing content should continue to work as expected. This update is focused on improving the editing experience rather than changing how authors interact with published content.

Are there any new formatting options available?

Yes. The updated editor includes improved support for:

  • code blocks

  • quote blocks

  • undo/redo

  • tables

  • image resizing

Does this update change how images work?

The main visible improvement is that images can be resized within the editor. This gives authors more control over how images appear in their content.

Is this just a visual update?

No. While some of the benefits are visible in the editor experience, this change also replaces the older editor foundation with a more modern one that is easier to maintain and improve over time.

Are there more editor improvements coming later?

This update helps lay the groundwork for future editor enhancements. While we’re not announcing specific upcoming features here, moving to a newer editor makes it easier for us to continue expanding authoring capabilities over time.
