Scenario
You use an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT, and you'd like it to find training for you, check your assignments, or enroll you in an event, without switching over to PlusPlus.
The PlusPlus MCP server connects your AI assistant to your PlusPlus site. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants use tools from other apps.
The assistant acts as you. It can only see and change what you can already see and change in PlusPlus.
Solution
Note: The MCP server is in beta. Access is turned on person by person, for a specific PlusPlus site. If you see AI client access is not enabled for your account yet. when you sign in, it isn't on for your account yet. Contact your PlusPlus team to request access.
Step 1: Find your MCP address
Your MCP address is your PlusPlus site address followed by /mcp.
For example, if your site is https://acme.plusplus.app, your MCP address is https://acme.plusplus.app/mcp
Step 2: Add PlusPlus to your AI client
Follow the steps for your client below, replacing acme.plusplus.app with your own site address.
These apps update their menus often. If a step doesn't match what you see, look in your client's own help for adding a custom MCP server or connector.
Claude (web or desktop): Go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Enter PlusPlus as the name and paste your MCP address.
Claude Code: Run
claude mcp add --transport http plusplus https://acme.plusplus.app/mcp, then type/mcpand select plusplus.ChatGPT (web): Go to Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode. Then go to Plugins, select +, and create an app. Enter PlusPlus as the name, paste your MCP address, and select OAuth.
OpenAI Codex CLI: Run
codex mcp add plusplus --url https://acme.plusplus.app/mcp, thencodex mcp login plusplus.Gemini CLI: Run
gemini mcp add --transport http --scope user plusplus https://acme.plusplus.app/mcp, then start Gemini and type/mcp auth plusplus.Cursor: Go to Settings → MCP → Add new MCP server and add
{ "mcpServers": { "plusplus": { "url": "https://acme.plusplus.app/mcp" } } }
Step 3: Sign in and allow access
Your client opens a PlusPlus sign-in page in your browser. Sign in the way you normally do, including single sign-on (SSO) if your site uses it.
If PlusPlus can't tell which site you're connecting to, you'll see Choose your workspace to continue. Enter your Email and Workspace domain (for example, acme.plusplus.app), then select Continue.
On the Authorize access screen, check that the site and email are the ones you expect, then select Allow.
Go back to your AI client.
Select Allow only once. Some desktop and IDE clients leave the page on screen after sign-in is finished. If you select Allow again, you'll see This sign-in request is already complete or has expired. Your client is already connected, and you can close the page.
Step 4: Ask
Try requests like these:
"Find PlusPlus courses about negotiation."
"What events am I enrolled in next week?"
"Enroll me in the next Python 101 session."
"Create an article in the Engineering channel from this text."
For admins: turn on admin tools
Every connection starts with the standard tools, even when an admin connects. Admin tools, such as managing other people's assignments and event attendance, need an extra approval for each AI client you connect.
Connect your client (Steps 1 to 3).
In PlusPlus, open the profile menu and select Dashboard.
Under Administration, select AI Connections.
Find the row for your client and select Approve, then confirm with Approve admin access. The Access column changes to Admin.
Reconnect your client, or refresh its tools, so it loads the admin tools.
Admin access takes effect right away, but PlusPlus doesn't tell your client that its tool list has changed. That's why the reconnect in step 5 is needed.
You can only approve your own connections, and only while you have the Admin role. If you don't see AI Connections in your dashboard, contact your PlusPlus team.
