Scenario
As an admin or content owner, you want to automate enrollment into scheduled offerings of a track — for example, enrolling new hires into the next scheduled cohort of an onboarding track.
Solution
Make sure a People Segment exists for the people the rule should enroll.
For more on segments, see How to use dashboard segments.Make sure the target track has at least one upcoming scheduled offering.
The rule enrolls people into a scheduled offering, not the parent track. If no upcoming scheduled offering exists, the rule has nothing to enroll matching people into. For more on scheduled offerings, see PlusPlus 101: Offer cohort-based training with scheduled tracks.Create a new automated rule with Enroll into an upcoming scheduled offering of a track as the action.
For the full procedure, see How to create an automated rule.Configure the action's fields:
Track — the parent track whose scheduled offerings the rule will consider.
Locations — optional. Restrict the rule to scheduled offerings at specific locations. If blank, scheduled offerings at any location are considered.
Day Offset — optional. Number of days after the rule evaluates (or after the person's hire date, whichever is later) before the rule considers scheduled offerings for enrollment. Defaults to
0.Preferred Attendance Method — the attendance mode to prefer when the scheduled offering supports more than one. The rule falls back to the other mode if the preferred mode is at capacity. See Preferred Attendance Method in the Go deeper section.
Overcapacity Policy — what to do when the matching scheduled offering is at capacity. See Overcapacity Policy options in the Go deeper section.
Enrolled by — the user who appears as the enroller in PlusPlus and in invitation emails for the scheduled offering's events.
Click Publish.
The rule runs on its scheduled cadence, enrolling matching people into the next upcoming scheduled offering of the configured track.

Scheduled offerings compared to all upcoming events
This action enrolls people into a scheduled offering of a track — a specific, dated instance of the parent track. By contrast, Enroll into all upcoming events of a track enrolls people into the next upcoming event of each event series in the track template, with no notion of a single cohort.
Use this action when:
The track has a cohort-based structure — everyone goes through it together on a specific date range.
You want enrollees to be part of a single scheduled offering, not scattered across multiple track instances.
Use Enroll into all upcoming events of a track when the track is evergreen — when the events run continuously and people should be enrolled in the next session of each series without cohort grouping. See How to automate event enrollments.
When no upcoming scheduled offering exists
The rule only enrolls people into scheduled offerings that have not yet started. If the parent track has no future scheduled offerings, the rule takes no action on its next evaluation; matching people are not enrolled in anything. As soon as a future scheduled offering is created, the rule picks it up on its next run.
If a scheduled offering has some events already in the past, the rule enrolls people only into the remaining upcoming events — not the past ones.
Preferred Attendance Method
Unlike the strict Attendance Method filter on the event-series enrollment actions, Preferred Attendance Method on this action is a preference, not a hard filter:
If the scheduled offering's events support both Online and In person, the rule enrolls people via the preferred method.
If the preferred method is at capacity, the rule applies the Overcapacity Policy — which may include falling back to the other attendance method.
If the scheduled offering's events support only one attendance method, the rule uses that method regardless of preference.
Overcapacity Policy options
When a matching scheduled offering is at capacity, the rule chooses among three behaviors:
Automatically increase capacity — enrolls everyone matching the segment into the first matching scheduled offering by raising its capacity.
Look for the next scheduled track with sufficient capacity — enrolls into the next matching scheduled offering that has room. If no future scheduled offering has room, no further action is taken.
Skip enrollment — takes no further action if the first matching scheduled offering is full.
The available options differ from those on event-series enrollment actions: waitlisting is not available here, because scheduled offerings are cohort-based and don't operate on the same waitlist model as standalone events.
Enrolled by
The Enrolled by field controls which user appears as the enroller in PlusPlus and in invitation emails. This is unique to scheduled track enrollment — other event-enrollment actions don't have an enroller field.
Set it to a user who should be visibly associated with the enrollment — typically a program manager, a training lead, or a service account dedicated to automated enrollments.
