How to make track steps optional

Learn how to set individual content items within a track as optional.

Scenario

As an admin or content owner, you want to make certain track steps optional so that people can complete the track as a whole without completing the optional content.

Solution

  1. Go to the track with content items you want to make optional.

  2. Open the context menu (button with three dots) and select Edit.

  3. In the Content section, open the context menu for the content you want to make optional.

  4. Select Mark as Optional.

  5. Save your changes.

Note that optional content is displayed with a dashed border and an Optional label.
