Scenario

As a content owner, you want to include different media types (videos, images, docs, or external websites) in an article. This includes the ability to embed docs from Cloud sources (Google Drive, OneDrive, and so on) as well as Confluence pages.

Solution

Use the Embed feature, following these steps:

  1. Go to the article article you want to embed media in.

  2. Open the context menu (button with three dots) and select Edit.
    The Edit article page opens.

  3. Click Embed (box with an inward-pointing, diagonal arrow) and select the media you want to embed.

  4. If you select Image, upload the image from your file explorer.
If you select Video, Cloud Doc, Confluence, or Website, copy and paste the URL for the media.
See the Go deeper section for limitations and tips for embedding different types of media.

  5. Save the article.

Limitation for embedding a video

If you embed a video in an article, the video cannot be individually tracked for completion, assigned to people, or added to tracks. You need to upload a video as a content item to apply these features.

Embedding Google media

Google sets limitations on embedding Google Docs, Google Slides, and so on. Embed Google media using the publish-to-web URL format instead of the source file URL.
