Why use videos on PlusPlus?

With PlusPlus you can link to your own video content, share that highly technical tutorial from YouTube, and make it all discoverable to your org. You can assign videos to team members as a one-off or integrate them into learning paths with PlusPlus tracks. Videos are automatically marked as started/completed based on a user’s engagement, and they can be automatically resumed if a viewer leaves the video page before completion (except for GDrive-hosted videos). Team members can also save a video so they can return to it easily and watch it later on.

Solution

Here are the typical steps for getting started with videos on PlusPlus.

  1. Enable video content for your instance of PlusPlus.
For more, see How to enable self-paced content types.

  2. Upload a video to PlusPlus.
In this step, you can also give a video description, add categories and tags to make it discoverable, and more. See How to upload videos to learn more.

  3. Assign the video to a team member.
You can assign the video directly to a team member as a one-off or you can add the video to a PlusPlus track.

  4. Collect feedback on the video.
See who has watched the video and how viewers rated it or responded to surveys about it. For more, see PlusPlus 101: How to get user feedback.

  5. Edit the video details as needed.
See How to upload videos for more on the details you can update.

Videos in the big PlusPlus picture

Videos are just one way you can offer self-paced learning content with PlusPlus. We also offer articles and courses, as well as the ability to facilitate live, relational engagement with live events, office hours, and mentorship. You can also incorporate videos, articles, courses, and live events into a sequential learning playbook with PlusPlus tracks.

For a closer look at all the content types available in PlusPlus for both live engagement and self-paced content, see PlusPlus 101: Content you can create.

Videos embedded in PlusPlus articles

PlusPlus articles let you embed videos in them, providing another way to share video content on the platform. A video embedded in an article (rather than uploaded via step #2 shown above) cannot be individually tracked for auto-completion, assigned to people, or added to tracks.

For more, see How to embed media in an article.
