Your Corporate Learning Environment Completed: PlusPlus + Degreed

Your Corporate Learning Ecosystem, Connected: PlusPlus + Degreed

PlusPlus and Degreed work together to form a modern, flexible learning ecosystem—one that supports structured programs, live learning, and self-directed exploration, without increasing administrative overhead.

PlusPlus is where learning experiences are created, delivered, and managed.
Degreed is where learning is aggregated, discovered, and recognized.

Together, they enable true blended learning across courses, live events, programs, and curated knowledge—while giving learners autonomy and giving learning teams visibility.

Expand Learning Without Expanding Workload

With the PlusPlus–Degreed integration, learning teams can:

  • Build guided learning journeys using Tracks

  • Curate flexible knowledge libraries using Collections

  • Power live learning through events, workshops, and cohorts

  • Automatically sync learning activity and completions into Degreed

Learners choose how and when they engage, while teams retain insight into participation, progress, and skill development—without duplicating work across platforms.

How Learning Flows Between PlusPlus and Degreed

In PlusPlus: Create and Orchestrate Learning

PlusPlus is the system of action for learning delivery and engagement.

Tracks
Create structured learning journeys that combine courses, live events, and assignments. Tracks can be automatically assigned for onboarding, role-based enablement, or ongoing development—handling enrollment, reminders, and progress tracking.

Collections
Curate flexible, non-linear groupings of content around a topic, practice area, or community. Collections are ideal for knowledge sharing, office hours, evolving domains, and ongoing reference material.

Live Learning & Events
Manage all live learning in one place, including:

  • Enrollment and capacity management

  • Calendar invites and reminders

  • Waitlists and attendance tracking

  • Completion signaling

Guides (Presenters & Mentors)
Highlight internal experts to reinforce peer-driven learning and knowledge transfer.

In Degreed: Discover, Aggregate, and Recognize Learning

Degreed remains the learner’s central discovery and recognition layer.

  • Learners discover PlusPlus content via:

    • Their Degreed feed, informed by interests and activity

    • The Degreed catalog, alongside content from other providers

  • Degreed receives:

    • Completion data for PlusPlus courses, events, and programs

    • Learning activity that contributes to learner profiles and skill insights

  • Learning teams use Degreed to:

    • Track learning across systems

    • Apply credentials and certifications

    • Maintain a unified view of organizational learning

What’s New & Improved in the Integration

Recent PlusPlus enhancements have significantly expanded the flexibility and control of the Degreed integration:

  • Richer learning structures through Tracks and Collections

  • Improved event modeling, with live events syncing as Events (not Courses)

  • Granular content controls, allowing teams to choose exactly what syncs

  • Support for informal and self-directed learning

  • Badge syncing for improved recognition

These updates reinforce a clear separation of responsibilities:
PlusPlus focuses on learning delivery and engagement, while Degreed focuses on aggregation, skills, and recognition.

How to Activate the Degreed Integration

  1. In PlusPlus, go to Settings → Integrations

  2. Scroll to Degreed

  3. Enter your Degreed Client ID and Client Secret
(Provided by your Degreed Technical Solutions Expert)

  4. Toggle the integration On

  5. Configure your sync options (outlined below)

  6. Click Save

Configure Your Degreed Sync

Once enabled, PlusPlus gives you fine-grained control over what syncs, how it appears, and how learning is classified in Degreed.

Sync Badges

Turn on to sync badges to Degreed

When enabled, badges earned in PlusPlus are pushed to Degreed and reflected in learner profiles. This allows achievements earned through events, courses, and Tracks to contribute to recognition and credentialing.

Sync Hidden Content

Turn on to also sync content marked as hidden

By default, hidden or restricted content is excluded from Degreed to avoid access mismatches. Enabling this option allows hidden PlusPlus content to be indexed in Degreed when your access model supports it.

Best practice: Only enable this if Degreed permissions closely mirror PlusPlus visibility rules.

Sync PlusPlus Events as Degreed Events

Formerly, PlusPlus events were synced as Courses

With this option enabled:

  • Live learning in PlusPlus syncs as Events in Degreed

  • On-demand learning continues to sync as Courses

  • Reporting and learner expectations are more accurate

This is especially valuable for instructor-led training, workshops, and recurring live sessions.

Use a Template for Events

Add a templated header to event descriptions in Degreed

Enable this to prepend standardized information—such as date, time, or location—to event descriptions indexed in Degreed.

Templates support the same dynamic tags used in PlusPlus event notifications.

Example:

📅 {{ date_time_information }}
📍 {{ event_location }}

Use Preview to confirm formatting before saving.

Sync Self-Enrolled Learning

Sync assignments with no due dates and self-enrolled events as Self-Enrolled Learning

When enabled, optional learning that is not part of a required Track—such as self-enrolled events or informal sessions—will appear in Degreed as Self-Enrolled Learning.

This helps capture curiosity-driven and informal learning without overstating requirements.

Choose What Content Syncs to Degreed

PlusPlus allows you to independently enable or disable each content type, so Degreed reflects your learning strategy—not just everything by default.

Articles

Short-form or reference-style written content.

Common use cases

  • Internal how-tos

  • Knowledge base articles

  • Best practices and documentation

Codelabs

Hands-on, instructional learning experiences, often used for technical or skills-based training.

Courses

Structured, on-demand learning experiences.

Best for

  • Compliance training

  • Foundational programs

  • Required learning

Events

Live learning experiences such as workshops, trainings, and sessions.

Events sync as Events (not Courses) when event syncing is enabled.

Event Types

Reusable categories for live learning formats (e.g., Workshops, Office Hours, Training Sessions).

Publishing event types improves categorization and discovery in Degreed.

Office Hours

Informal, drop-in sessions for Q&A or expert access.

Many teams choose to disable this to keep Degreed focused on more structured learning.

Mentorship Programs

Structured mentorship or development programs.

Enable this if mentoring is a core part of your learning strategy and you want it discoverable in Degreed.

Tracks

Guided learning journeys composed of multiple learning items.

Highly recommended for onboarding, role-based learning, and leadership development.

Videos

Standalone videos managed in PlusPlus.

Useful when videos are meant to be discovered independently, outside of Tracks or Courses.

Best Practices

  • Start with Courses, Events, and Tracks, then expand gradually

  • Be intentional about publishing informal content (Office Hours, Videos)

  • Use Self-Enrolled Learning to capture optional engagement

  • Revisit settings periodically as your learning strategy evolves

The Result: True Blended Learning
