Scenario

Use the Bulk Import tool for event types, following these steps:

  1. Open the profile menu in the upper-right and select Dashboard.

  2. Select Event Types on the left.

  3. Click Bulk Import.
    The Bulk Import tool opens.

  4. Click download our template to download a CSV file with all event type information ready to be filled in.

  5. Open the downloaded CSV template.

  6. Fill in the values for the event types you want to create.
The table in the Go deeper section explains how to fill in the spreadsheet properly.

  7. Return to the Bulk Import tool and click Upload to upload the filled-in spreadsheet.
    The file uploads.

  8. Click Validate.
A summary appears with the number of validated rows, along with the line numbers for any errors detected. You can return to the spreadsheet to address any errors.

  9. Once the spreadsheet is fully validated, click Import to import the data from the spreadsheet into PlusPlus.
You are navigated back to the Event Types dashboard with the new event types listed.

Bulk import scheduled events

Event types are a template for individual, scheduled events. For instance, you might create an orientation event type as a piece of your standard onboarding. You then schedule this orientation event as an individual occurrence when needed, using the details you set up in the event type, such as location, organizers, presenters, and so on.

In addition to the Bulk Import tool for event types, you can also make bulk updates to scheduled events with the Bulk Import tool on the Events dashboard. With scheduled events, you can created, edit, or delete events with the Bulk Import tool. For more, see How to bulk import scheduled events.
